Aquarium Maintenance Solutions was originally founded as Sharky’s Aquarium Maintenance Service, in 1995, by Adam Pierce.

Aquarium Maintenance Solutions traces its roots back to 1995, when it was originally founded as Sharky’s Aquarium Maintenance Service by Adam Pierce. With over 30 years of saltwater reef aquarium experience, Adam has maintained a wide range of systems, including SPS (Small Polyp Scleractinia), LPS (Large Polyp Stony), soft coral, and fish-only aquariums, as well as freshwater setups.

Adam’s passion for aquatics began at age 18, working in local pet stores while building his knowledge and expertise. During college, he took on freelance aquarium maintenance work, balancing academics with hands-on experience. Following graduation, Adam launched a career in Information Technology for an international Fortune 500 company, yet his personal reef aquariums remained his true passion.

After nearly a decade in the corporate world, Adam realized that fish and reef systems brought him far greater fulfillment than the office ever could. He made the decision to follow his passion full-time, transforming years of experience into a career dedicated to creating and maintaining thriving aquatic environments.
